Jeremih

I truly believe that an R&B singer makes him/herself successful through features. We've seen this formula many times. By becoming a featured artist on a more established person's song, only then can that singer get the credibility and clout that will drive them to their 15 minutes of fame. How they get those connections, I don't know. But, I often see the rise before the storm and right now, I'm seeing another rise.

If you look back at another post I did a thousand years ago, I spoke about Jeremih and his "Birthday Sex" song. It was cute and catchy and he reminded me of P.Diddy (looks-wise). And while he has done some other small things in the meantime, his new collaborations are what is going to make him more successful. Thanks 50. Sometimes, you have a spark here and there...

Other people who have fallen into this category, of becoming more famous thanks to their high-profiled features, were:

Trey Songz
Lloyd
Ne-Yo (after the songwriting, his features is what put him in front)
Bobby Valentino
T-Pain (does he really count as R&B?)
John Legend
Bruno Mars (new to the list)(but still gained come-up due to features before his songs)
